Vermilion Co. Red Kettle campaign at only half their goal of $40,000

DANVILLE — The Salvation Army Red Kettle theme this year is, ‘Give with Joy.’ And while the bell-ringers will stop on Christmas Eve, the campaign runs until Jan. 31, 2026.

“Having volunteered myself many times during Christmas and ringing, I noticed that’s always the case,” Lt. Katherine Reed, who has served with the Salvation Army since 2014. “Anytime I’m at the kettle, everyone always comes up, and they’re excited to give, and they just have this beautiful spirit. And a lot of times we hear stories of the ways that the Salvation Army have impacted their life or their family or their parents — it’s always a great experience for us, it’s a blessing because we see that impact throughout the whole year.”
