People who have been infected with the flu are urged by the NHS to either call 999 or go to A&E if they experience specific severe symptoms. It comes shortly after the NHS revealed that hospitalisation for flu cases have surged significantly in just one week.
Recent data from the NHS reveals an average of 2,660 patients being admitted to hospital with the flu each day last week. This sets a new record for flu hospitalisations for this period of the year and represents a 55% increase on the previous week.
