CLEVELAND, Ohio – The holidays are here. The malls come alive and the customers in some stores fight over some items as if it’s a matter of life and death.

I asked readers on my Facebook page for ideas.

A long time ago, Roberta and I surrendered the quests to come up with the “perfect gift” for everyone. We still do that with some special people because we know what they really like.

But for others, it’s often cash and/or gift cards.

As Sandy wrote: “I usually give the older nieces and nephews gift cards. They don’t ‘want’ a lot of stuff. (Gift cards) gives them a chance to get something they want or need once they figure it out. Throughout the year, I donate blood and I’m a volunteer firefighter.”
