The latest Grand Theft Auto 6 delay has opened up space for the release of a replacement that will take over the period the anticipated Rockstar game was originally planned for. A while ago, GTA 6 was delayed from May 26, 2026, to November 19, 2026, with Rockstar citing it needed some extra time to polish the game for its definitive release .

This is, technically speaking, the second delay the game has endured, as it was previously expected to arrive this year, 2025. A lot of games had notably held back their release dates because of GTA 6 , so as not to compete with it. Now, one of the new The Game Awards 2025 announcements has taken over the period the Rockstar game would have been released in, in May 2026.
