A Massachusetts influencer has gone viral for putting a distinctly local spin on the Christmas movie classic “Elf.”

Boston foodie and social media creator Colton Cunningham — known on TikTok and Instagram as @beefeatsfirst — recently donned the iconic green elf costume made famous by the hit 2003 film starring Will Ferrell, James Caan, and Zooey Deschanel.

Cunningham told NBC Boston that he originally bought the costume as a gag for a 5K race. But instead of retiring the outfit, he decided to get a little more mileage out of it — by touring Boston as Ferrell’s beloved character, Buddy the Elf.

In a now-viral video , Cunningham reimagines “Elf” as if it were filmed in locally rather than in New York City.
