State police have identified the truck driver who was killed in a road rage incident on Interstate 84 in West Hartford on Tuesday .

Haneef McKnight, 28, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died after getting out of his tractor-trailer in congested traffic on I-84 East, police said.

According to state police, McKnight ran across the highway and jumped onto a box truck in the center lane.

At some point, McKnight was struck by the box truck and died.

It's not clear what prompted him to leave his truck.

State police are asking anyone that may have been traveling in the area that witnessed the incident or anyone that may have cell phone and/or dashcam footage of the incident to contact Detective Timothy Nohelty at 860-706
