Police found three people dead in what they described as a murder suicide after one of them called 911, saying he had just killed his friends.
The harrowing scene unfolded Friday afternoon, Dec. 12, around 12:20 p.m. at a property on Forest View Drive in the town of Catskill, New York State Police said.
The preliminary investigation determined that Connor Provo, 22, of Catskill, contacted Greene County 911 and reported that he had killed his friends.
When troopers and deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the property, they entered a trailer and found Provo dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.
Troopers and deputies then continued to search the property and entered a double-wide building, where they found two adult men deceased from apparent gunshot wounds, according to State Police. The victims were later identified as Clifford Beauchard, 34, and Justin Acevedo, 19, both of Catskill, police said.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office, the Town of Cairo Police Department, and the New York State Forest Rangers, authorities said.
The incident is being investigated as a murder-suicide, and investigators believe Provo shot the two men before taking his own life, State Police said. The investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police Catskill Barracks at 845-344-5300, authorities said.
