The UK Government has announced that Springburn and Sighthill are to receive Pride in Place funding after decades of underinvestment in the areas.
The Pride in Place programme will give the communities control of £2 million every year for the next decade to invest in projects to improve the areas, putting the community at the heart of decision-making. To deliver the Pride in Place programme, a Neighbourhood Board will be appointed.
Working with Glasgow City Council, Glasgow North East MP, Maureen Burke, will appoint an independent Chair who will engage with residents to ensure that the projects selected for funding align with the needs of the local people.
