1Jersey City, NJ – A 16-year-old boy from Pennsylvania was shot and killed inside a Jersey City apartment Friday evening, prompting a homicide investigation by Hudson County authorities.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department responded to an apartment on Rose Avenue shortly after 5:10 p.m. following reports of an injured male.

Officers found the victim, identified as Al-Jahmir Curry, with a gunshot wound to the upper body.

Victim pronounced dead at scene

Curry was pronounced dead just before 5:30 p.m., according to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello. The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause and manner of death.
