The Penguins won’t have their new guys, goaltender Stuart Skinner and defenseman Brett Kulak, for Saturday’s afternoon game against the San Jose Sharks at PPG Paints Arena.
Both have been granted non-roster status due to immigration issues, the team announced.
To fill in for Skinner, the Penguins recalled Sergei Murashov from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on an emergency basis.
Murashov has appeared in four games this season, starting three and going 1-1-1 with a 1.90 goals-against average and .913 save percentage.
It’s not know whether he’ll play — coach Dan Muse will announce his starting goaltender at 1 p.m. — but it’ll be either Murashov or Arturs Silovs.
The Penguins also have a game Sunday, so if Skinner isn’t available by then, Murashov would likely play one of the two games this weeke
