OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - On this day in history, the Tri-Faith Initiative was taking an important step forward.
In 2011, representatives from the Jewish community, Muslim community, and the Episcopal Diocese of Nebraska came together to announce they had each purchased their own land at the former Ironwood Golf Course.
Over the next nine years, a synagogue, mosque, and church were built on the 38 acres, along with a Tri-Faith Community Center.
It’s the only place of its kind in the world.
