The city of Isleton, nestled along the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta, has faced major challenges in recent years, but newcomers to the community are betting on the city’s ability to bounce back.
One home builder in particular is hoping to turn it all around - one home at a time.
“It's really a wonderful little town. It is,” said Anthony Garcia, of Lucas Homes. “It's got a lot of character. It's got a lot of history.”
Garcia bought lots of a stalled subdivision off Highway 160 in Isleton back in 2016. A handful of colorful homes that have already been built and sold can be easily spotted from the roadway.
After years of his own challenges, Garcia now has three new houses -- from 2,000 to 2,200 square feet -- under construction.
