The celebration of 70 years of the United Way of Hamblen County is more than a vertical stroke on a timeline. The decades of supporting nonprofit agencies in the community have ensured that essential services have continued regardless of financial challenges, with more than $60 million raised to date. Over half the population of Hamblen County is, directly or indirectly, impacted by a United Way agency.
Now the challenge is for the United Way to meet its 2025 campaign goal. As the Citizen Tribune went to press, the fundraising effort still needed about $38,000.
