Legendary Emmy, Grammy, and Tony award-winning actor Dick Van Dyke is celebrating his 100th birthday Saturday.

Van Dyke is best known for his roles in "Mary Poppins," "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," and "The Dick Van Dyke Show."

He began his career as an entertainer on the radio before moving over to television.

Van Dyke started his TV career in 1955 at WDSU as a single comedian and later as an emcee of a local comedy program.

He also served as staff announcer, hosts music programs, and appears in a segment during the noon newscast.

Van Dyke continued his career in entertainment, including starring in "The Dick Van Dyke Show," in the 1960s, and movies and musicals such as "Mary Poppins" and "Bye Bye Birdie
