CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. (KAKE) – A teenager has died after a rollover crash in southeast Kansas on Saturday morning, the Kansas Highway Patrol says.
The crash happened around 6 a.m. Saturday on U.S. 400, just east of Baxter Springs. The patrol says a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer was traveling westbound on the highway when it ran off of the road to the left. The vehicle overcorrected, crossed over the highway and ran off the road to the right.
The vehicle overturned and the driver, 19-year-old Meredith Wagner of Columbus, Kansas, was ejected, the patrol’s crash log states. Wagner, who KHP says was not properly restrained at the time of the crash, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
