Montclair native and character actor Peter Greene, probably best known as the cold-eyed, pale and sophisticated villian pointing a gun on stage at Jim Carrey's green-faced clowning theatrics in the box-office hit "The Mask," is dead. He was 60 years old.

Greene was found dead Dec 12 in his lower-east side apartment in Manhattan, his manager, Gregg Edwards, confirmed the news in a statement to USA TODAY on Dec. 13. Greene won a wide following as the villain in Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction," and for his roles in "The Usual Suspects” and “Training Day,” among other films.
