On Thursday December 11, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the North Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 in Beaucage Township. Upon speaking with the driver, the officer determined the driver had been consuming an intoxicating substance. The driver was arrested and transported to the North Bay OPP detachment for further testing.

A search of the driver and vehicle resulted in the seizure of two bags of suspected cocaine, a digital scale, and approximately $800 in Canadian currency.

As a result of the investigation a 62-year-old from West Nipissing, has been charged with: Operation while impaired – drugs, Operation while impaired – blood drug concentration, Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
