Greater Manchester is set to be hit by heavy rain over the coming days - with flooding and some travel disruption possible.

Amber and yellow national weather warnings are in place for the weekend and Monday, covering northwest England, west Scotland, Northern Ireland and parts of north Wales. For Greater Manchester, the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for "heavy rain" for areas of the city.

The weather warning covers a large area of northern England, including parts of Greater Manchester. Bolton , Bury , Oldham , Rochdale and Tameside boroughs are covered by the warning, plus parts of Manchester, Salford and Wigan boroughs.
