Paul Lim has made yet more history by beating Jeffrey de Graaf at Ally Pally. The 71-year-old has extended his own record as the oldest player to win a game at the PDC World Championship.

Lim beat De Graaf, 35 years his junior, 3-1 in a huge upset to book his spot in round two. It comes 44 years after his first World Championship appearance.

Lim qualified for Ally Pally for the first time since the 2022 World Championship where he lost in the first round to Joe Murnam. He avergaed just 86.52 with two 180s, but it was enough to see off a sub-par De Graaf.

"First and foremost, I'm thankful to be here and I'm thankful to this crowd behind me. Just to make it here is an achievement," Lim told Sky Sports after his win.
