Missouri football defensive end Zion Young was arrested early Saturday morning on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, speeding, and a failure to properly affix a license plate to his vehicle, per Missouri State Highway Patrol arrest records.
Young, 21, was arrested at 1:40 a.m. in Boone County. He was later released on summons for the above charges.
“We are aware of the situation involving Zion Young,” Eli Drinkwitz said in a statement provided to the Columbia Daily Tribune via a team spokesperson. “We have high expectations for all of our student-athletes, on and off the field, and we will address this matter."
Young transferred to Mizzou from Michigan State ahead of the 2024 season. He was named a team captain this season and has started to receive some first-round NFL Draft buzz.
