Pathanamthitta (Kerala), Dec 13 (PTI) Medical care facilities set up by the Health Department helped save 81 people who suffered heart attacks during the ongoing pilgrimage season, officials said on Saturday.
A state government press release said that the round-the-clock modern health centres, along with specialist doctors and paramedical staff, enabled timely medical intervention and saved several lives during the pilgrimage.
The statement said that of the 103 reported cases of heart attack, 81 patients were successfully treated.
In addition, six lives were saved out of 25 reported cases of cardiac arrest through prompt medical attention.
All 44 reported cases of seizures were also successfully treated, the statement said.
