VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Officials from the Valdosta Fire Department state that at around 10:57 a.m., there was a structure fire at the intersection of East M.L.K. Drive and South Lee Street.

Fire crews arrived on scene within three minutes of receiving the call about the fire, and they quickly brought the fire under control. Fire service personnel were able to find one victim, while multiple occupants are displaced and being assisted by the Red Cross.

The 300 block of East M.L.K. Drive between S. Lee Street and S Troup Street will be closed for the next several hours.

Officials say the cause of the fire was accidental.
