Yves Bissouma has explained his latest misdemeanour was brought on by 'paranoia' after thieves broke into his home.

The Tottenham midfielder was filmed using a nitrous oxide balloon, which was made a Class C drug in 2023 as part of the UK government's anti-social behaviour action plan.

A Tottenham spokesperson told PA Bissouma's latest indiscretion would 'be dealt with as an internal matter'.

But in an interview with The Sun, Bissouma opened up on how a July break-in to his home turned his world upside down.

"I am sorry," Bissouma said.

"This incident [break-in] broke something in me I didn't even know I could break.

"I apologise to the fans. The trauma added to my life - fear, panic, depression and paranoia."
