PITTSBURGH — An 18-point halftime lead failed to stand up for the University of Toledo men’s basketball team Saturday, with Robert Morris taking command in the second half for a 75-70 victory.
The Colonials (8-4) outscored the Rockets 51-28 in the second half after UT (5-5) took a 42-24 lead into the break. Toledo led by as many as 21 points before falling behind.
Robert Morris tied things up at 56 with 7:15 to go on a Cam Wilds 3-pointer as part of an 11-1 run, with a free throw by Ryan Prather, Jr., with 6:44 to go giving the Colonials the lead for good.
Following the Robert Morris run, the visiting Rockets came no closer than three points the rest of the way.
Toledo struggled from the field, hitting just 33 percent of its shots (20 of 60). The Rockets were 4 of 12 (also 33 percent)
