On Saturday at 4:57 p.m. a cold weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from Sunday 7 a.m. until Monday 1 a.m. for Somerset County.
The weather service states, "Very cold wind chills between 10 and 15 degrees below zero expected for the Laurel Highlands."
"The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken," describes the weather service. "Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. If outdoors, dress in layers and cover exposed skin."
