1 person dead after two-vehicle collision in Kawartha Lakes, Ont.

Ontario Provincial Police say one person is dead after a two-vehicle collision in Kawartha Lakes Saturday.

In a post to social media, police said a cargo van and a car crashed on Highway 35.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the cargo van was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Highway 35 was initially closed from Highway 7A to Ballyduff Road. The closure was extended southbound until Telecom Road Saturday afternoon and remains closed, police said.
