BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – With dangerously cold temperatures, wind chills, and winter weather advisories in effect across southern West Virginia this weekend, a warming shelter is opening in Beckley to provide refuge for residents in need.

The Beckley Warming Center will open Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. at the Beckley Community United Methodist Church, 217 South Heber Street, in the lower-level fellowship hall.

The facility will remain open through 7:00 a.m.

Organizers say anyone needing a warm, safe place to shelter overnight is welcome.

The opening coincides with active advisories issued by the National Weather Service as a winter system pushes through the region.
