Following the setback in the local body polls in the state capital, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan Saturday said, “the upper hand gained by NDA in Thiruvananthapuram corporation is a matter of worry for those who believe in secularism.’’

Reacting to the outcome in the local body polls in the state, Vijayan, in a statement, said the LDF could not make a surge in the elections on the expected lines. “The reasons will be examined and the LDF will move ahead after making necessary corrections,’’ he added.

On the BJP’s win in Thiruvananthapuram, Vijayan said the upper hand of the NDA and the influence of communalism in the campaigning were a concern for those who believe in secularism.
