HORACE, N.D. — Before tipping off against Bismarck Legacy in its home opener on Saturday, the West Fargo Horace girls basketball team unveiled its 2025 North Dakota Division AA state championship banner.
For the Hawks, it was a reminder of the phenomenal season that was. For the Sabers, it was a reminder that Horace beat them in the state quarterfinals to get one step closer to that banner.
Both sides returned with talented rosters in 2025-26, and on Saturday, it was Legacy spoiling the Horace party. Behind Marlee Falcon's 33 points, the Sabers topped the No. 2-ranked Hawks 83-76 in a nonconference matchup played at Horace High.
"We knew we could beat them, we know what we can do and we know our roles as a team," Falcon said. "So if we put this all together, we're unstoppable."
