Fernando Mendoza has taken home college football's most prestigious honor.
The star Indiana football quarterback learned that his name will forever be engraved into college football history on Saturday, Dec. 13 inside Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Appel Room in New York City by being named the recipient of the 2025 Heisman Trophy.
He received more votes than Vanderbilt quarterback Diego Pavia, Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin and Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love for the award. The Miami native is also the first-ever Hoosier to win the award, and the second player in program history to be named a finalist for the annual award given out by the Heisman Trophy Trust.
