The Government has announced that a scheme offering bonuses to Universal Credit claimants is being expanded. The update follows a written question from Labour MP Gareth Thomas, who asked the Government about its plans to "increase levels of household savings".

Treasury minister Lucy Rigby provided a response, outlining the tax incentives around savings and its other policies that are currently in place. She said: "Everyone should have access to affordable and appropriate products for their financial wellbeing.
