After rolling to a big, early lead, Friendswood found itself backed into a corner on its home floor by Clear Brook.
And the Wolverines never really let up on the pedal.
Relying on a quick defense to take an 18-point edge by opening moments of the second quarter, the Mustangs then stumbled the rest of the way as Brook outscored them by 30 over the final three periods in a 66-54 senior night loss Friday night.
Danny Russell, the Mustangs’ head coach, looked to prevail on the lesson-to-be-learned approach following just the team’s second loss in its last 10 starts.
