MOUNT VERNON, Iowa (KCRG) - With the pressure on, great players deliver.

Savanna Wright of Mount Vernon did that Friday night. The sophomore scored all seven of the Mustangs’ points in overtime, to help Mount Vernon take down previously undefeated Williamsburg.

Mount Vernon was without one of their seniors, Taylor Franck, leaving only two starters left from last year’s state championship squad, Wright and Courtney Franck.

Wright said she knew she’d has to be a scoring and emotional leader. Her final shot was a game-winning layup, where the plan was to get her the ball.
