A woman says she saved more than £10,000 by having knee surgery abroad after seven years of struggling. Cardiff-born Susie Marks says she has “got her life back” after travelling to Lithuania for a robot-assisted knee replacement, following more than seven years of struggling after an accident.
The 59-year-old teacher, originally from Cardiff and now living in Abergavenny, was involved in a major car crash in 2017. She suffered six broken ribs and a damaged sternum; her injuries were so severe that she didn’t immediately realise her knee had also been injured when it struck the dashboard.
