PISCATAWAY -A critical win by former Rutgers University wrestler Brian Soldano in the 184-pound bout was a key result in Oklahoma University's come-from-behind 19-14 win over the Scarlet Knights Saturday night at Jersey Mike's Arena.
Soldano's late win over former teammate Shane Cartagena Walsh pulled the Sooners within two and then D.J. Parker (197) recorded a major decision and Juan Mora (heavyweight) a win in sudden victory over Hunter Catka to cap the comeback.
Oklahoma won the final four bouts to erase a 14-6 deficit. Carter Schubert (174) began the comeback with a 5-1 win over Lenny Pinto.
Rutgers wrestled without one of its best wrestlers. Unbeaten 141-pounder Joey Olivieri did not weight in because of a violation of team rules. Oklahoma won that bout.
