For the second time in two nights, the Komets allowed a goal in the final minute of regulation and suffered a 5-4 loss, this time being to the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday.
An awkward bounce off the boards at Memorial Coliseum gave Wings forward Andre Ghantous the opening he needed for a game-winning goal on Komets goaltender Nathan Day with 28 seconds remaining.
After a slow start to the first period, the Komets scored when a shot by defenseman Dustyn McFaul rebounded back to forward James Stefan for a goal. The Komets outshot the Wings 12-5 in the first and led 1-0 at intermission.
The Wings tied the game just 36 seconds into the second. Ghantous redirected a shot by forward Ryan Cox to beat Day.
