Bengaluru: Congress MLA H A Iqbal Hussain Saturday predicted that deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar would become the chief minister on Jan 6 or Jan 9, triggering fresh political speculation in the state. "There is a 99% chance that he becomes the chief minister. About the date, it's just a random number. Everybody is saying this. It can either be Jan 6 or 9. These are the two dates," Hussain, a staunch supporter of Shivakumar, told reporters. The Ramanagara MLA said the post, presently occupied by chief minister Siddaramaiah , should be vacated to give Shivakumar an opportunity.
