News 40 Weather | Getting A Little Warmer

A LITTLE WARMUP After several below normal days recently, we are going to feel a little warmer air as we head into Labor Day weekend. Temperatures should be running around 87-88 degrees for normal highs here at the end of August. In the coming days, we will come closer to the average, but are not expecting us to go back to the hot and humid weather we felt only a couple of weeks ago. What we could use is some rain. There is a cold front approaching the area Friday afternoon, but by the time it reaches Southern Kentucky, much of any rain chances will disappear. Currently, there are several burn bans in effect with more likely to come. A new drought monitor update will be released today which will tell the story of just how dry it is.
