NEW YORK (WBNG) -- According to Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, almost 1.5 million New Yorkers could risk losing their Medicaid coverage.
The senator called out concerns on planned cuts to Medicaid. The changes could put 400,000 children at risk of losing their healthcare, and would increase healthcare costs, especially for low-income seniors and people with disabilities.
Senator Gillibrand calls the proposal an unacceptable piece of legislation.
“The last thing the medicaid program needs is more cuts and more red tape, but that’s exactly what the republican proposal would offer, making it even more difficult for families to get the care they deserve,” exclaimed Senator Gillibrand. “All across New York, people are worried.”
