DES MOINES, Iowa —

PGA Tour Champions are back in Des Moines this week for the annual Principal Charity Classic at Wakonda Club.

Since 2007, the event has raised over $62 million for Iowa children's charities.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament has a field of 78 players and a purse of $2 million, with $300,000 going to the winner. Ernie Els won the 2024 PCC.

KCCI's Jeff Dubrof confirms 2021 and 2023 champ Stephen Ames withdrew after three holes Friday at Wakonda Club. No reason has been announced yet.
