(WTVO) — Trump has granted the founder of the Gangster Disciples, Larry Hoover, clemency for his federal life sentence, according to his attorneys.
Hoover has spent 30 years in solitary confinement in a Colorado prison known for being one of the most secure prisons in the nation.
"Larry Hoover's federal life sentences have been commuted by President Donald Trump," Bonjean Law Group said in a statement. "Mr. Hoover, who is now 75 years old, spent nearly 30 years in solitary confinement at ADX Florence, the most restrictive, draconian supermax prison in the United States."
Hoover is still facing a separate 200-year sentence for the murder of a 19-year-old drug dealer in Chicago.
