College Station, Texas (KBTX) - The Texas House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 1567, a bill that would restrict university cities from enforcing relation-based occupancy rules.

The bill was passed by the Senate on April 14th, and now it heads to the Governor’s desk.

College Station City Councilman Bob Yancy, who has been outspoken in his opposition to the bill, says he worries about the future of the city if the Governor signs it into law.

“I worry about out-of-state investors stampeding to these short list of communities in Texas to acquire single-family residential homes for commercial properties,” Yancy said.
