Federal agents arrested a former deputy superintendent in the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday on charges that he allegedly extorted subordinate employees to do free plumbing work at his home during regular business hours, federal prosecutors said.
Thomas Brady, 53, of Norwood, was indicted by a federal grand jury on four counts of extortion and three counts of use of interstate facilities to commit bribery and extortion, US Attorney Leah B. Foley’s office said in a statement .
He pleaded not guilty to the charges in federal court in Boston on Wednesday and his next court date is July 21, according to court records.
