A patient was stabbed inside a lobby at Massachusetts General Hospital lobby in Boston Thursday, the second violent incident near the hospital complex this week, officials said.

The person was stabbed around 8:30 a.m. near the 90 Blossom St. entrance to the hospital, said Boston Police Officer Mark Marron, a department spokesman.

The person’s injuries were not life-threatening, Marron said.

A suspect was quickly identified and taken into custody, police said.

The ages and genders of the people involved were not immediately available, Marron said.

According to police transmissions recorded by Broadcastify, the person was treated at the MGH emergency room for at least one stab wound.

In a statement, the hospital said police and MGH security responded quickly to the assault.
