The mornings are a powerful time of day that can set you up for success if you do it right. Whether you snooze your alarm , when you drink your coffee or the time you eat breakfast can all be major factors — and you've probably heard that it's good to get some sunlight first thing, too

But you're not going to feel motivated every morning, and that's totally normal. You may wake up with a pit of anxiety in your stomach or anger from a fight you had with a loved one the day before. The good news is whatever emotion you notice when you open your eyes doesn't have to dictate the tone of your day.

The first step, though, should be to take time to recognize the emotion.
