WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ky. —
The Washington County Sheriff's Office says that one person is dead and at least 14 more were injured after a tornado touched down in central Kentucky.
According to WLWT Louisville affiliate WLKY, tornado warnings hit part of the region early, starting around 5:20 a.m. One was issued for Washington County around 6:47 a.m., which is when the storm really ramped up. Advertisement
The judge executive of Washington County said that along with the fatality, 14 people were hurt. At least two homes were destroyed.
The man killed in the tornado was later identified by police on Saturday as Ronnie Hill, 48, of Springfield.
Washington County is located southwest of Lexington and is about a two-hour drive from Cincinnati.
