DOUGLAS COUNTY — At about 2:25 p.m. Monday, June 2, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for southern Douglas County until 2:45 p.m.

At 2:18 p.m. a severe thunderstorm was located near Glenwood, or 20 miles south of Alexandria, was moving northeast at 60 mph.

Wind gusts of 60 mph and small hail were reported. The storm is expected to damage some roofs, siding and trees.

Locations impacted include Alexandria, Sauk Centre, Glenwood, Starbuck, Brooten, Belgrade, Lowry, Lake Osakis, Holmes City, Grove Lake, Villard, Elrosa, Gilchrist, Nelson, Forada, West Union, Westport, Sedan, Glenwood Airport and Long Beach.

Weather spotters were paged out to help track the storm.
