LAKE CITY, Fla. (WCJB) - A swimming spot in Columbia County is back open with a new look just in time for summer.
The Jared Allison Aquatic Complex now has a cooler pool deck to prevent burning feet, updated locker rooms, music, and an updated look.
The director says that when he took over, he knew the facility could be better because it had so much potential.
“I saw that the facility just needed some love. It just looks like basically nobody really kind of gave it the attention it needed, and it was a great hidden gym that nobody knew about,” said Aquatic Director Chris Cuadras
The facility was named after swimmer Jared Allison, who was killed in 2014 when a truck hit him.
This complex is ready to take in swimmers for $10 a day.
