Two Pilsen residents were detained by federal immigration officials without warrants Monday morning, Ald. Byron Sigcho Lopez’s office said.

In a social media post Monday afternoon, the 25th Ward office said one person was detained inside a business and another inside a home in the 1800 block of South Carpenter Street about 8:30 a.m.

“With the footage submitted to our office, it was apparent no warrant was provided for either of the arrests,” the statement said. “We are calling for a full investigation that brings great concern to our community with these trends happening across the country.”
