WEBSTER PARISH, La. (KSLA) - An officer with the Cullen Police Department has been arrested for reportedly shooting a dog and pointing a gun at a woman.
Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker says the incident happened Sunday, June 1. Officer Reginald Ferguson went to the home in question for an unknown reason and reportedly discharged his gun twice. The sheriff says it does not appear the officer was dispatched out to the home.
The sheriff says Ferguson shot twice at the dog while the woman was standing very close by, putting her in danger. Then, the sheriff says Ferguson pointed his gun directly at the woman.
The sheriff’s office discussed the case with the DA’s office, and an arrest warrant for Ferguson was issued for illegal use of a weapon.
